POINTS STILL UP FOR GRABS

By: Kari Carlson
(Tuesday, August 17, 2010) Well John Wood did it again, winning his fourth consecutive ASA OREGON Midwest Truck Tour race at Dells Raceway Park last Saturday night. Nine trucks took to the track for the 35 lap feature event with Todd Lockington and Butch Mierendorf leading the field to the green.

Jerry Wood set fast time with at 13.992, being the only driver to crack into the 19-second bracket. Tom McClintock and John Wood rounded out the top three in qualifying. The feature line-up is determined by the roll of the dice, which was two plus six. With only nine trucks starting, it was almost a complete invert.

It did not take long for John Wood to move from his sixth starting position to take over the lead. The 15K of Dustin Karl had his share of troubles on Saturday and was unable to finish the event after completing only 15 laps and bringing out the caution.
