BURLINGTON, WI (Wednesday, September 10, 2008) – Tim Schendel is coming off an impressive performance at Marshfield Super Speedway by winning the Kim Parsons Memorial 100 this past Sunday. The win allowed Schendel to join Dan Fredrickson and Donny Reuvers as the only three drivers mathematically eligible to win the 2008 American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment.

SCHENDEL HONORED BY SPEED 51

Schendel’s win was recognized by speed51.com as they named him the Quarter Master Clutch Performer of the Week.

Speed51 stated that not only did Schendel have to fend off the best in the ASAMT for the win, but also several other choices to be named, “There were several strong choices for the Quarter Master Performance of the Week that our panel suggested and voted for, including the track crew at Thompson International Speedway (who cleaned up nearly five inches of rainfall from Tropical Storm Hanna to hold 400+ green flags of racing on Sunday), first-time PASS South winner Jay Fogelman, Carquest Tour winner Wayne Smith and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victor Todd Szegedy,” the website stated.

MARSHFIELD, WI (Sunday, September 07, 2008) – Tim Schendel made his second visit to Marshfield Super Speedway payoff as he won his second American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment event by winning the Kim Parsons Memorial 100. Schendel started 13th and took over the lead with 35 laps to go as he passed defending ASAMT champion Nathan Haseleu for the win.

“That was a lot of tough cars, a lot of tough passing,” a smiling Schendel stated in victory lane. “I knew we had a good car all weekend and we were just biding our time.”

For Schendel, getting his second win in the ASAMT showed how the hard work paid off, “It took us all year to get our stuff together. Its tough coming into this series thinking you are going to win right away but this is a tough group of guys’ right here.”

BURLINGTON, WI (Wednesday, September 03, 2008) – Marshfield Super Speedway, located in the middle of the state of Wisconsin, will welcome the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment to its half-mile oval this Sunday afternoon for the Kim Parsons Memorial 100. This will be a special event for everyone involved.

Kim Parsons is the daughter of Marshfield PA announcer Steve Parsons who lost her life earlier this year at the age of 21 in a tragic accident. Steve and Kim has been a staple at central Wisconsin facility and her loss has been felt by competitors, fans, and the staff of Marshfield Super Speedway.

“We were best friends, we were a father and daughter who enjoyed doing something together,” Steve Parsons stated earlier this year. “She was a mom and loved her girls.”

September date will have a special meaning for the event promoter

BURLINGTON, WI (Thursday, June 26, 2008) – For Steve Parsons, going to the racetrack was a bonding experience for himself and his daughter Kim. Sadly, that ended earlier this year as she lost her life to a tragic accident.

“We were best friends, we were a father and daughter who enjoyed doing something together,” Parsons, the track announcer at Marshfield Super Speedway in Marshfield, WI recently stated. “She was a mom and loved her girls.”

In honor of his daughter, Parsons along with the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment have announced a 14th race date schedule for Sunday, September 7th at Marshfield Super Speedway. The 100-lap event will be called, “The Kim Parsons Memorial.”
