JEFFERSON, WI (Saturday, May 17, 2008) – It has been a tough start to the 2008 season for Jonathan Eilen and it appeared that streak would continue. But, luck would turn around for him as he would capture the Kwik Trip Stores 100 ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment event at Jefferson Speedway in Cambridge, WI.

“Boy we really needed this,” a happy Eilen stated in victory lane. “We had our problems all day with the motor. We actually had the back up car out ready to go and we thought for sure we would have to go to that one, but this car was like a rocket on rails.”

Eilen started on the outside of the front row and got the lead from polesitter Adam Hensel.

BURLINGTON, WI (Friday, April 18, 2008) – “I’m ready and the car is just about ready, just need to put a few finishing touches on it,” Jonathan Eilen recently stated. Eilen, the 2007 ASAMT Rookie of the Year, is getting ready to defend his 2007 ASAMT Elko victory this Saturday night at the Kwik Trip 125 at Elko Speedway in Elko, MN.

Last year, Eilen found himself in a battle for the lead with 2007 ASAMT Champion, Nathan Haseleu throughout the 125-lap event. It was an event that Eilen will never forget.

“I was just hoping to make the race,” Eilen recalled as 51 Super Late Models attempted to earn one of the 26 starting spots. “There were so many big names at the event, just like again this year. Once we got a spot, the next thing was just to make sure we survived, but to find myself battling for the lead, that was something I would never expect in a million years.”

Friday, November 2, 2007 (Daytona Beach, FL) – When you read Jonathan Eilen’s bio on his website www.eilenmotorsports.com, the first sentence says it all. It reads, “The word ‘success’ has been synonymous with his career.”

Fan, competitors and officials of the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment found out right away that he does live up to that sentence.

The 22-year-old Hampton, MN driver surprised many back on April 28, 2007 by becoming the inaugural ASAMT winner at Elko Speedway in Elko, MN. A track where has seen a lot of success.

In 2001, Eilen was the Rookie of the Year in the Thunder Car division where he finished tenth in points. A year later, he was the champion of the same division.

He moved up to the Sportsman division in 2003, where he claimed another Rookie of the Year title with 17 top-ten finishes at Elko.

In 2004, he competed in the Mid-American Series where took home five wins and 14 top-ten finishes.

It was in 2005, that he got behind the wheel of a Super Late Model and finished 15th in points at Elko. He competed in many Super Late Model events around the Midwest in 2006.

Friday, September 14, 2007 (Daytona Beach, FL) – Of the 143 competitors to have earned points so far this season in the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment, 12 have registered as rookies and seven have competed in every event. Three of those rookies even visited victory lane.

“I think we have the best group of rookies in any racing series,” ASAMT VP, Steve Einhaus stated. “To have this rookie field win nearly a one-third of our events says a lot about the future of the ASA Midwest Tour and it also shows that the ASAMT will be a great proving ground for all racers.”

Jonathan Eilen of Hampton, MN is the leading rookie contender going into the Tour’s final season event at Oktoberfest on Oktober 6-7 at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. He currently sits fourth in points, 138 points behind leader Nate Haseleu. Eilen made his mark right away at the Tour’s Inaugural event back on April 28th by winning the Elko 125. DAYTONA BEACH, FL (August 11, 2007) - Jonathan Eilen of Hampton, MN made himself the answer to a trivia question by becoming the first-ever winner of a American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour Presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment race back in April. On Sunday August 12th, the ASA Midwest Tour travels to Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN for the Shakopee 100 Presented by Prairie Lawn and Garden which is just miles from where Eilen captured the historic first win to kick off the ASA Midwest Tour’s inaugural season.

Eilen hasn’t made it back to Victory Lane since, but has been a consistent top five finisher in the other events and that has elevated him to fourth in the ASA Midwest Tour point standings with just two races remaining. "Winning that first race was awesome, I don’t think that I ever had such a big fan base at my home track," said Eilen. "Not only to win one of these races, but to win one of the biggest races ever at Elko Speedway was great."

ELKO, MN (April 28, 2007) – Jonathan Eilen won the inaugural event for the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment on the high banks of Minnesota’s Elko Speedway Saturday.

Fifty-one of the nation’s top Super Late Model drivers turned out to put on an amazing show in the Elko 125 for a full-house crowd in ideal weather. The feature field started 28 cars. Sponsors Echo, Kwik Trip, Heat N Glo, and Scag Power Equipment greeted fans with displays in the pedestrian mall inside Speedway grounds with free product samples and actual power tools for people to handle and learn about. The full-house crowd and packed pit area further demonstrate the ASA Midwest Tour is going to be a hit this season and beyond.

The top sixteen in qualifying were locked into the show, and the top fourteen were inverted based on a dice roll plus eight. The inversion put Jamie Iverson and Brandon Hill on the front row and fast time “Blow Your Competition Away” award winner hometown hero Dan Fredrickson in the outside of the seventh row.
