BURLINGTON, WI (Thursday, July 24, 2008) - “Going into this season, if we get a good start and have a good time at what we are doing, we will make a run for the points,” Dan Fredrickson stated back in January at the Midwest Motorsports Auction in Rockford, IL. As the American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment surpasses the halfway mark of the 2008 season, it’s appearing the Fredickson is on track to his pre-season thought.

Fredrickson currently holds 58-point lead over fellow Minnesota rival Donny Reuvers with six events remaining on the 2008 schedule. He started off his “Western Swing” weekend with a strong third place finish in the Keith Fleck Miller 100 at Hawkeye Downs on Friday night, and finished 12th in the Rasmussen Group Twin 75’s on Sunday at Iowa Speedway.

Reuvers had a steady weekend as he finished fourth at each of the Iowa events.

Travis Sauter quietly sits in third only 162 points behind Fredrickson. He collected another top-five finish with his 5th place run at Hawkeye and was a 10th place finish at Iowa Speedway.

BURLINGTON, WI (Tuesday, July 08, 2008) – Dan Fredrickson’s win this past Saturday in the ECHO Bear Cat July Spectacular 100 at I-94 Raceway, an ASA Member Track, allowed him to increase his points lead over second place runner Donny Reuvers. He currently has an 85 point lead after six of the 14 events in the 2008 ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment.

Fredrickson picked up 150 of the 160 points he was eligible to get this past Saturday night. He received 100 points for the win, 12 points for qualifying 5th, 18 points for finishing second in his fast heat, and 20 appearance points.

Reuvers picked up 134 points. He received 82 points for his fourth place finish in the feature, 16 points for qualifying third, 16 points for finishing third in his fast heat, and 20 appearance points.

Travis Sauter sits third only 160 points behind Fredrickson in the standings. Sauter started 25th and finished 8th in the feature event to keep him within reach of Fredrickson.

BURLINGTON, WI (Monday, July 07, 2008) – I-94 Raceway, the oldest active ASA Member Track, was the host of the sixth event on the 2008 ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment. A great crowd was on hand at the seasoned 3/8-mile asphalt oval it provided some great two-wide racing with Dan Fredrickson taking home his fifth ASAMT win in a dominating performance.

ANYONE HAVE A HEADACHE?

For many of the 39 ASAMT teams that competed, their headaches would start in the late afternoon once qualifying was over. With the competition being so tough, that if you don’t get out of the gate fast, you could have a long night ahead of you.

The top-16 in qualifying was separated by .32 seconds. Joe Berthiaume had an early headache and heartache as he and Jeff Storm had the same qualifying time of 17.08 seconds, which was the 16th fastest in time. But, because Storm set that time first, he was credited with having the last starting spot for the feature event while Berthiaume had to earn his spot by winning his qualifier race.

SAUK CENTRE, MN (Saturday, July 05, 2008) – At the last ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment event at Grundy County Speedway, Dan Fredrickson stated that wanted to start getting some trophies since he had not won one since May 4th at Madison International Speedway. Tonight, the hungry point leader from Elko, MN dominated the ECHO Bear Cat July Spectacular 100 at I-94 Raceway by lapping 24 of the 26 cars in the field.

Fredrickson started tenth and quickly jumped to the lead by lap 12 over Adam Hensel. “I knew it was hot rod in the heat race,” an exhausted Fredrickson stated in victory lane. “We struggled all day, the car was fast, but it wasn’t how I wanted it to feel. This is sweet, never lapped the field before.”

BURLINGTON, WI (Thursday, May 22, 2008) – After competing at one of the series most challenging tracks, Dan Fredrickson’s fourth place finish allowed him to stay on top of the ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment’s point standings after three events. With his fourth place finish in the Kwik Trip Stores 100 at Jefferson Speedway this past Saturday, he now holds a 69 point lead over Andrew Morrissey.

Morrissey, who is coming off his third place finish at Jefferson, may be one of the biggest surprises this season in the ASAMT. With a recent sponsor signing, he could be a contender for the championship. He had a strong run at each of the three events so far this season. His worse finish came at Madison where he did lead the most laps but was involved in a late caution with Travis Sauter and came home with a 12th place finish.

Morrissey will be one to watch at Dells Raceway Park on Sunday, June 1st. Last year, he finished second in points and had six feature wins at the 1/3 mile facility.

BURLINGTON, WI (Wednesday, May 07, 2008) – Back in January, Dan Fredrickson made this statement, “Going into this season, if we get a good start and have a good time at what we are doing, we will make a run for the points.” After two events, its safe to say that he is on track as he holds a 62-point lead over Josh Vadnais after two events.

Fredrickson picked up his fourth ASAMT win this past Sunday in the ECHO Chainsaw 100 at Madison International Speedway. This was a great follow-up to his second place finish at the opening event at Elko Speedway back in April.

He also has collected an ECHO Blower for picking up the Fast Qualifier award at Elko and came up .002 seconds short of beating Jacob Goede at Madison.

Fredrickson will look at continuing his good start at the Kwik Trip Stores 100 on Saturday, May 17th at Jefferson Speedway.

OREGON, WI (Sunday, May 04, 2008) – Dan Fredrickson will admit that he never had a good run at Madison International Speedway. After tonight, Madison is one of his favorite tracks as he captured the ASAMT ECHO Chainsaw 100 in front of a large crowd.

“I haven’t won here and never been real good here, but had a pretty sweet car here tonight,” a happy Fredrickson stated in victory lane. “I hope we can keep going with this, it was cool to beat Carlson and Busch. And now Madison is one of my favorite tracks.”

Fredrickson held off a late charge from Steve Carlson to take his fourth ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment win. “The deal here is you can’t run pretty well with someone on your back bumper. But once I got two car lengths on him, I could run my line and run better.” Fredrickson stated.
