Thursday, January 10, 2008 (Daytona Beach, FL) – ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment officials along with Dells Raceway Park officials have mutually announced that the race date originally scheduled for Saturday, June 28 has been moved to Sunday, June 1.
“Joe Graziano (DRP owner) and I discussed this date and both felt it was in each of our best interests to move up the date,” ASAMT VP, Steve Einhaus stated. “He has a great holiday event that he would like to present to his fans that weekend and it will be beneficial to our teams as it will prevent them from competing three straight weekends in a row.”
The change in the ASAMT schedule will now allow the race teams a weekend break between the June 22nd Grundy County Speedway event and the July 5th I-94 Speedway event.
Last year’s Dells Raceway Park event saw a record car count with local favorite, Kenny Richards holding off NASCAR Sprint Cup driver, Johnny Sauter, for the win.
The ASAMT Championship Banquet will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Kalahari Resort. Race teams are encouraged to visit the ASAMT website for more information on making their hotel reservations.
