Earns a top-ten finish in ASAMT opener

Wausau, WI – Chris Wimmer and his Preval Chevy now hold the Madison International Speedway track record. The record fell a few times during qualifying, but it was Wimmer who broke it for the final time with a lap of 17.245 seconds, shattering the previous record of 17.417 seconds.

“The practice times were fast all weekend,” says Wimmer, “So I think everyone had a feeling the record was going to be broken. My car was pretty good in practice, but I was a little surprised to have that fast of a lap. To be able to break a track record feels pretty good and it was definitely an awesome way to start of the 2012 season.”

Sparta, WI (March 7, 2012) - NASCAR Nationwide Series car owner, Jimmy Means, has once again tapped the talent of Sparta, WI super late model driver, Tim Schendel. Schendel will be piloting the #52 Means Chevrolet in this weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series’ “Sam’s Town 300” in Las Vegas, NV at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Coming off a 30th place finish in last weekend’s Nationwide Series race in Phoenix driving the same car, it will be the first time Schendel has raced on the 1.5 mile track. He will be one of forty-three drivers gambling for a spot in the 300 mile, 200-lap race.

“I’m excited to go to a new track ” Schendel said. “Vegas is notoriously a fast track so it should be a great race. I’m hoping to gain some more experience in this series. My goal is to come away having driven a clean race with the car intact.”
